As a journalist, it is not often that I find myself writing about Justin Bieber. However, as a writer who admires the works of Maya Angelou, I have come to realize that there are lessons we can learn from every individual.

Bieber has been in the public eye since he was young and has faced numerous challenges along the way. From his early beginnings as a YouTube sensation to becoming an international pop star, Bieber’s journey has been anything but easy.

One of the most significant challenges that Bieber has faced is cyberattacks. In recent years, he has been targeted by hackers who have leaked personal information and embarrassing photos online. These attacks have caused him immense pain and have led to severe anxiety for both himself and his fans.

Maya Angelou once said: “We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.” This quote perfectly describes how Justin Bieber has responded to these cyberattacks. Despite facing multiple setbacks due to hacking incidents, he continues to rise above them and use them as opportunities for growth.

In 2015, when nude photos of Bieber were leaked online by hackers who had gained access to his ex-girlfriend’s Instagram account, he refused to let it bring him down. Instead, he took control of the situation by posting a message on Twitter thanking his fans for their support and apologizing for any embarrassment caused by the incident.

This response demonstrated maturity beyond his years and showed that even in moments of vulnerability or crisis, one can still choose how they respond – with grace or with anger.

Furthermore, following this incident, Justin made efforts towards better cybersecurity measures such as using stronger passwords and two-factor authentication methods.

Another lesson we can learn from Maya Angelou through her poem “Still I Rise” is resilience in times of adversity- something which Justin exhibits time after time despite being trolled constantly over social media platforms like Twitter:

“Just like moons and like suns,

With certainty of tides,

Just like hopes springing high,

Still I’ll rise.”

Bieber has faced immense criticism for his music, personal life, and even fashion choices. Yet he continues to persevere and push himself to be better in all aspects of his life.

In 2019, Bieber took a hiatus from the music industry citing mental health struggles as the reason behind this break. He opened up about his struggles with depression and anxiety in an Instagram post stating that he needed time off to focus on his mental health.

This move showed incredible strength and bravery on Bieber’s part- acknowledging one’s own vulnerability can be a challenging task especially when one is a public figure. It also highlighted that seeking help or taking rest is not a sign of weakness but rather an act of courage.

Maya Angelou once said: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This quote applies perfectly to Justin Bieber’s journey as it highlights the importance of being kind and empathetic towards others.

Despite facing numerous cyberattacks throughout his career, Bieber has always maintained a positive attitude towards his fans by showing gratitude for their support while striving to make their lives better through charity initiatives such as donating proceeds from ticket sales to charity organizations across North America.

In conclusion, there are many lessons we can learn from Justin Bieber’s journey- resilience in times of adversity, grace under pressure & taking control over situations despite setbacks whilst remaining compassionate towards others. Maya Angelou would have been proud of him for embodying these qualities so well both personally and professionally.
