Is Technology Pushing Us Towards Nonstop Undercompensated Labor?

For example, as more and more jobs require employees to be available at all times via email or phone, it can become difficult to separate work from leisure time. However, it’s important not to oversimplify the issue by blaming cellphones or laptops alone for these problems. Even before cell phones were invented, workers often took their work home with them in order to meet deadlines or catch up on unfinished tasks. Therefore it may be unwise It’s worth noting that some companies are taking steps towards creating a healthier work-life balance for their employees by implementing policies like flexible schedules or dedicated “unplugged” periods during the day where workers are encouraged not check their emails or answer calls outside business hours .

Ultimately though while technological advancements bring significant benefits in terms of efficiency , convenience etc., there does need be a concerted effort towards ensuring that they do not come at the expense of worker well-being .
