The project is part of a larger effort to address Boston’s ongoing housing crisis. According to a report from the Boston Foundation, nearly half of all households in Boston are considered “cost-burdened,” meaning they spend more than 30% of their income on housing.
In response to this crisis, local organizations like POAH Communities and Madison Park Development have taken action to create more affordable options for residents. The Flat 9 at Whittier development will provide much-needed relief by offering deeply subsidized units to eligible families.
