Bartolo Colon: The Ageless Wonder of Baseball

Baseball is a sport that requires great precision, speed, and athleticism. Players come and go, but only a few become legends. Bartolo Colon is one of them. He might not be the most athletic or fastest player on the field, but he has something that sets him apart from others – his ageless wonder.

Colon was born in 1973 in Altamira, Dominican Republic. He started playing baseball at an early age and signed with the Cleveland Indians as an amateur free agent in 1993. Since then, he has played for several major league teams including the Montreal Expos, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, New York Mets and Atlanta Braves.

Throughout his career spanning over two decades now (since 1997), Colon has been known for his exceptional control and accuracy while pitching. His fastball may not be as fast as it used to be but he knows how to use it effectively along with other pitches like slider and changeup.

In recent years though what makes him stand out even more is his durability despite being much older than most players on the field today. At 48 years old (as of May 2021) he’s still playing professional baseball – a feat that very few have accomplished before him.

His longevity can be attributed to many things such as his dedication to fitness and health which includes proper dieting habits leading up to games day after day; however there are likely other factors such as genetics which allow some individuals like Bartolo Colon to continue performing well into their late forties.

Regardless of what keeps him going strong year after year though one thing is clear – Bartolo Colon is truly a living legend in every sense of the word when it comes down to Major League Baseball pitchers!
