The Red Scorpion Gang is a criminal organization that was formed in Vancouver, Canada, in the early 2000s. The group has been involved in drug trafficking, extortion, and murder for hire. In recent years, the gang has gained national attention for its connections to political scandals.
The Red Scorpion Gang was founded by two brothers, Jamie and Jarrod Bacon. The brothers grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia and were known to police as early as their teenage years. By the time they were adults, they had developed a reputation as violent drug dealers.
In 2007, police arrested Jamie Bacon on drug charges. While he was awaiting trial in prison, his brother Jarrod took over the leadership of the gang. It was during this time that the Red Scorpions became involved in some of their most notorious crimes.
One of these crimes occurred on October 19th, 2007 when six members of a rival gang called the Bandidos were shot execution-style at a suburban Vancouver high-rise apartment building. The B.C. government declared a public emergency after more than 70 people died from overdoses related to fentanyl-laced street drugs sold by organized crime groups.
Not long after this incident occurred; rumors began circulating that there may have been political involvement with this case due to several high-profile individuals being linked or associated with those affiliated with the Red Scorpion Gang.
The first politician connected to this scandal was former Canadian Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer who served under Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s administration from 1997-2011.. Jaffer later became an independent lobbyist where he frequented strip clubs and bars while drinking heavily and boasting about his influential connections within Ottawa circles.
Jaffer’s name surfaced again when it came out he had been caught driving drunk with cocaine possession which led him into trouble with law enforcement officials; however he managed to get off without serving any jail time because of his connections with Harper and the Conservative party.
The second individual linked to this scandal was former Liberal MP Joe Peschisolido, who represented the riding of Richmond for over a decade. It was later revealed that Peschisolido had previously been involved in business dealings with members of the Red Scorpion Gang. In 2019, he was found guilty by Canada’s ethics watchdog of failing to properly disclose a loan to his campaign from an individual connected to organized crime.
These links between politicians and organized crime have led many Canadians to question the integrity of their government officials. The public outcry has also put pressure on law enforcement agencies to crack down on gang activity and corruption within their ranks.
Despite these scandals, the Red Scorpion Gang remains active in British Columbia and other parts of Canada. The group has been implicated in several high-profile murders, including the killing of six men at a Vancouver-area high-rise apartment complex in 2007.
In recent years, police have made significant progress in dismantling the gang’s operations. In 2013, Jarrod Bacon was sentenced to 12 years in prison for drug trafficking charges related to his involvement with the Red Scorpions. His brother Jamie is currently awaiting trial on charges related to the same case.
In conclusion, organized crime has long been a problem for Canadian law enforcement agencies; however it is disconcerting when political figures are linked or associated with criminal organizations like Red Scorpion Gang which only serves as further proof that political corruption exists not just internationally but globally as well.. While there have been some successes in cracking down on gangs like this one; more work needs done if we want our communities free from violence and fear once again..
