Interview with Author Jane Doe: Discussing the Power of Literature
Literature has always been a powerful tool that enables us to explore different worlds, understand people from various backgrounds and most importantly, challenge our beliefs. Today we are joined by author Jane Doe who is going to share her thoughts on the power of literature.
Q1: What inspired you to become an author?
I have always had a passion for writing since I was young. As I grew older, my love for reading led me towards fiction writing. The idea of creating my own world and characters fascinated me.
Q2: In your opinion, what makes literature so important in today’s world?
Literature is essential because it helps us develop empathy and gain a deeper understanding of human nature. Through books, we can experience different cultures and lifestyles which allows us to broaden our perspectives. Additionally, literature challenges us to think critically about social issues that exist in society.
Q3: How do you approach writing your novels?
When I begin writing a novel, I usually start with an idea or concept that interests me. From there, I create my characters who will be driving the plot forward. Once these two elements are in place, I outline the story before diving into actual writing.
Q4: Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
My advice would be to write every day even if it’s just for 15 minutes – consistency is key! Also read widely – not just within your genre but outside of it too as this will help improve your own writing style.
Q5: What book(s) have had the biggest impact on you personally?
The book that has made the biggest impact on me personally would be “To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. This book taught me about injustice and racial prejudice which still exists today unfortunately.
