The Unattainable Dream: Why Equality is Just a Myth!

Equality – A Satirical Look at the Unattainable Dream

For decades, we have been sold the idea that equality is a goal worth striving for. We’ve been told that everyone should be treated equally regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation or social status. But let’s face it; this idealistic dream is nothing but a myth.

Equality is something that we all want to see in our society, but unfortunately, it’s just not possible. There will always be differences between people based on their background and experiences. While some people may argue that these differences can be overcome through education and hard work, the fact remains that they still exist.

Take income inequality as an example. The rich get richer while the poor get poorer – no matter how many times politicians promise to change this situation. Even with government assistance programs such as welfare and food stamps in place, there are still millions of Americans who struggle to make ends meet every day.

Then there’s racial inequality. Despite years of activism and legislation aimed at creating equal opportunities for minorities in America, disparities remain prevalent across various sectors including healthcare access and employment opportunities.

And let’s not forget about gender inequality either! Women continue to earn less than men do for doing the same jobs even though we live in the 21st century!

Let us also take into account LGBTQ+ rights which are continuously fought against by those who believe they don’t belong in society simply because of who they love.

It seems like no matter what measures we take as a society to create more fairness among our citizens; there will always be someone left behind or disadvantaged due to societal norms or systemic discrimination.

So why do we keep holding onto this illusion? Is it simply because it makes us feel better about ourselves? Or perhaps because it gives us hope that one day things will magically fall into place?

The truth is; Equality is an unattainable dream! It’s time we stop pretending that it’s not. Instead, we should focus on creating a society where everyone is treated with respect and dignity regardless of their background or experiences.

We need to recognize that differences exist among individuals and celebrate them instead of trying to erase them. We can work towards creating equity rather than equality by acknowledging these differences and addressing the root causes of inequality such as systemic discrimination, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia etc.

In conclusion; let’s all stop pretending that Equality is achievable because it isn’t! Let us acknowledge the disparities in our society and address them accordingly. By working together towards creating a more equitable society, we might just be able to make life better for everyone who calls this planet home!
