President Biden's Immigration Policies: Comprehensive and Humane

Joe Biden’s immigration policies have been a contentious issue since he took office in January 2021. The previous administration had implemented some of the most restrictive immigration policies ever seen in American history, and it is no secret that President Biden has set out to reverse many of these policies.

One of the first things that President Biden did was to create a task force focused on reuniting families who were separated at the border under Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy. This move signaled that his administration would be more compassionate towards those seeking asylum in America.

Another significant step taken by the Biden Administration was to introduce an immigration bill that would provide undocumented immigrants with a path to citizenship. The proposed legislation would also increase funding for border security and streamline the visa application process for those who want to enter the country legally.

President Biden has also made it clear that he intends to prioritize DACA recipients – young people brought into this country illegally as children – and ensure they are protected from deportation. He signed an executive order rescinding Trump’s efforts to end DACA, which provides protection from deportation and work permits for nearly 700,000 Dreamers.

However, critics argue that these measures may encourage illegal migration across the border, which could exacerbate problems related to border security and impact US citizens negatively.

Despite criticism from opponents, one cannot ignore how much progress has been made so far in reversing harmful policies put forth by previous administrations concerning immigration reform. Under President Joe Biden’s leadership thus far, America appears poised not only for real change but also for opportunities where all can thrive.

To conclude, President Joe Biden’s approach towards Immigration appears both comprehensive as well as humane given his emphasis upon resolving past wrongs committed against vulnerable groups such as DACA recipients or families who were separated at borders because of strict enforcement measures implemented during Trump era- something we hope continues throughout his presidency!
