My dear readers, today we shall discuss a subject that has been on my mind for quite some time. That is the topic of movie franchises and their retirement. As we all know, nothing lasts forever, not even our beloved movie franchises.
Let us first consider the case of James Bond. This franchise has been around for over 50 years now and has seen six different actors play the iconic role of Agent 007. However, as Daniel Craig’s tenure as Bond comes to an end with the upcoming release of No Time To Die, it begs the question: what will happen next? Will there be another actor to take up the mantle or will this franchise finally come to a close?
Another long-running franchise that seems to have reached its conclusion is Star Wars. After 42 years and nine main saga films, The Rise of Skywalker was released in 2019 marking an end to this epic space opera tale. While there may be spin-off shows like The Mandalorian continuing in this universe, it appears that the Skywalker Saga has indeed retired.
On a similar note, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans bid farewell to Iron Man and Captain America after Avengers: Endgame last year which marked an end for many popular characters’ journeys in Phase Three of MCU movies. But as we look forward into Phase Four starting with Black Widow releasing later this year post-pandemic era; new faces such as Shang-Chi are set to make their debut while other classic characters like Thor are still going strong.
Now let us talk about one franchise that refuses to retire – Fast & Furious! Starting from street racing cars in Los Angeles back in 2001; these movies have since evolved into high-octane action thrillers featuring globe-trotting adventures and insane stunts with each installment bigger than its predecessor! The ninth film titled F9 postponed multiple times during pandemic lockdowns hopefully releases soon once things stabilize around us.
In conclusion, dear readers, movie franchises have been a staple in our lives for decades. They entertain us with their thrilling stories and beloved characters. However, like everything else in life, they too must come to an end eventually. As we say goodbye to some of our favorites and welcome new ones into the fold; let us cherish the memories they leave behind and celebrate what is yet to come!
