As a lover of nature and all things luxurious, I was thrilled to discover the world of “glamping.” For those who haven’t heard of it yet, glamping is a form of camping that combines the beauty of the great outdoors with the comfort and amenities of a high-end hotel. After experiencing it for myself, I can confidently say that glamping is an experience like no other.
One of my favorite glamping experiences was at Under Canvas in Moab, Utah. The tents were spacious and beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and even wood-burning stoves to keep us warm during chilly desert nights. But what really made this glamping experience stand out was the stunning location – waking up to views of towering red rock formations was truly unforgettable.
Another memorable glamping experience was at Ventana Big Sur in California. This resort offers luxury safari-style tents complete with private decks overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The tents are outfitted with plush bedding, heated floors, and even clawfoot bathtubs for soaking while taking in the stunning views. It’s hard to believe you’re camping when you have access to amenities like a full-service spa and gourmet restaurant.
For those who want an eco-friendly option without sacrificing luxury, there’s Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in British Columbia. This resort offers luxurious canvas tents set amongst old-growth rainforest on Vancouver Island. Each tent features handcrafted furnishings and heated floors but also has composting toilets and solar-powered electricity to minimize its environmental impact.
But perhaps my most unique glamping experience was at Kachi Lodge on Bolivia’s Uyuni Salt Flats. Here we stayed in transparent geodesic domes that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in our surroundings while still enjoying all the comforts we could ask for including hot showers & wood-burning stoves.
Overall, I highly recommend trying out a glamping experience if you’re looking for a vacation that blends adventure with relaxation&luxury. With so many unique destinations and accommodations to choose from, the possibilities are endless.
