From Saggy to Perky: My Breast Augmentation Journey

Breast Augmentation: A Personal Journey

I never thought I would be the kind of person to get plastic surgery. As a writer and journalist, I have always been interested in exploring the beauty industry from an objective standpoint, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to delve into it on a personal level.

After having two children and breastfeeding each for over a year, my once perky and full breasts had become deflated and saggy. It was something that bothered me every time I looked in the mirror or tried on clothes. Despite exercise and healthy eating habits, there was no way to fix this issue naturally. So after much research and contemplation, I made the decision to undergo breast augmentation.

The process started with finding the right surgeon. I did extensive research online, looking at before-and-after photos of different procedures performed by various surgeons in my area. After narrowing down my list to three potential doctors, I scheduled consultations with each one.

During these consultations, we discussed what size implant would be best suited for my body type as well as the different types of implants available (silicone vs saline). We also went over any possible risks involved with surgery such as bleeding or infection.

Ultimately, I chose a board-certified plastic surgeon who listened carefully to what I wanted while also providing realistic expectations for what could be achieved through surgery. We settled on silicone implants placed under the muscle for a more natural look and feel.

The day of surgery arrived quickly after weeks of preparation including quitting smoking (as nicotine can impede healing), arranging childcare during recovery time (at least two weeks), stocking up on comfortable clothing that didn’t need pulling over your head (think button-up tops instead) among others.

As someone who has never undergone any type of major surgery before, nerves were high as they wheeled me into the operating room. But everything went smoothly thanks to an experienced team led by my chosen surgeon who ensured all precautions were taken to make sure everything went according to plan.

The recovery process was more difficult than I anticipated, but not unbearable. The first few days were spent in bed, with pain medication prescribed by my surgeon and ice packs to help alleviate swelling. After that, I gradually started moving around the house and taking short walks outside when possible.

It took about a week before I could drive or do any heavy lifting again (including picking up my children), and a full month before resuming regular exercise routines. But as the weeks passed, I began feeling more like myself again.

Now, six months after surgery, I am happy with my decision to undergo breast augmentation. My breasts look fuller and perkier while still maintaining a natural appearance that fits well with my body type. Of course, there are always risks involved with any surgery and it’s important to do your research beforehand and choose an experienced surgeon who will prioritize your safety above all else.

In conclusion, getting breast augmentation is a personal decision that should be made after careful consideration of all available options along with consultations from qualified professionals such as board-certified plastic surgeons. While it may not be for everyone, it can provide significant benefits for those looking to improve their self-confidence or address physical changes caused by factors such as aging or childbirth.
